We collaborated with Grow 73, a local community organisation based in Glasgow, to develop proposals for the reuse of derelict council-owned land to create a beautiful, inclusive community garden to be enjoyed by local residents of all ages and abilities. Grow 73’s aims are to advance education in relation to gardening, local food growing, healthy eating, composting, and matters relating to the environment, biodiversity and living more sustainably.
The new facilities have been designed to incorporate fully accessible internal and external meeting space fabricated from recycled shipping containers, and extensive raised planters and polytunnels for growing plants, herbs and vegetables.
The proposals for the community gardens have been developed in close consultation with the members of Grow 73 and the local stakeholders.
